Cremation with a funeral?

A major misconception is that cremation is a type of funeral - it is not. Cremation is a type of final disposition. The other choice of a final disposition is earth burial.

If you choose cremation you have many ways in which to honor your loved one.

You may choose to have a visitation with your loved one present. This allows you, family, and friends to be with your loved one during your time of grief. You may also choose to have the cremation first, and a memorial service with the cremated remains present.

You may also choose not to have any service, and to honor your loved one privately when you feel the time is most appropriate.

• Visitation with your loved one present, chapel service at the funeral home, luncheon to follow
• Memorial service after the cremation has taken place.
• Direct cremation with private service at a time and place you feel most appropriate to honor your loved one.
